Yeley Posts Fourth Straight Victory for No. 14 Greer Special

KANSAS CITY Sept. 29, 2007 — J.J. Yeley, of Phoenix, AZ, won the Kansas Lottery 100 at Kansas Speedway Saturday giving owners A.J. Foyt and Jim Greer their fourth straight victory on the USAC Silver Crown division’s pavement tracks.

Yeley, who also ran in the NASCAR Busch race that day, qualified eighth for the 67-lap USAC event. He took the high line at the start and blasted into the lead coming off turn two. He was never headed.

“The car was totally tight in qualifying so we put it back on the scales and found a few things wrong,” said Yeley after the race. “We got it better, obviously. After running the Busch race, I hoped everybody went low in turn one on the start and I went to the top and got the lead off turn two. George (Snider) and the crew do such a good job with this car that it makes it fun to drive."

Teammate Pablo Donoso, of Santiago, Chile, qualified fourth in the No. 11 and was battling for third when a right front tire problem on lap 39 caused him to spin. The tire shredded, causing damage to the body of the No. 11 Chevy, and forced Donoso to retire. He placed 16th.

Yeley’s performance continued the No. 14 Greer Special’s domination of the K&N USAC Silver Crown Series on pavement and vaulted the car to second in the entrant’s point standings with just one race left at Yeley’s home track--Phoenix International Raceway. With three different drivers, the No. 14 has won six of the eight races it entered this season and led every lap (265) of the last four races with Yeley at the helm for three of them. Bobby East won two races and Tracy Hines won in the No. 14’s initial outing in Miami.

Donoso is currently tenth in the series point standings; he finished second to the No. 14 Greer Special three times this season and finished in the top 10 and additional three times.

The final race of the USAC Silver Crown Series is the Copper World Classic which takes place Nov. 8th at Phoenix International Raceway as part of the NASCAR race weekend. The Foyt and Greer have an opportunity to claim the entrant’s title as the No. 14 is just 19 points out of first place.
